Clown Lab - Ella The Great Workshop

Ella the Great is an accalaimed clown, circus artist and trained sculptor who crafts visual stories that celebrate splendour in simplicity and conjure magic from the mundane.

Ella has been training in clown since the age of 7. Known for drag-king act Richard Melanin the Third, she tours nationally and internationally. Ella's current work in progress, Lady Goose, combines clown and poetry.

Focused on "clown from the heart", weaving together their unique blend of influences from performance art to circus clown, this three-hour session is suitable for clown-curious beginners as well as those with experience seeking to broaden their understanding of the basics.

Through games and exercises, we will explore creativity and spontaneity, the joy in discovery, audience connection and the pleasure to share. This is a space for celebrating imagination and play with collaboration at the centre.
